I recently had the delightful experience of photographing the Kids' Takeover event organized by Bethany and Tess from the Library’s Audience Engagement team. This event, held during the summer school holidays, was a hit!
From 10am to 3pm, the Library was buzzing with excitement. Here’s a glimpse of the day:
Magician and Author Nicholas J Johnson kicked off his 11:30am session, teaching magical tricks and performing mystifying manoeuvres. The kids were thrilled!
In the afternoon, Dr Hubble, Australia’s favourite bubble man, mesmerized everyone with his mind-blowing bubble tricks at 2pm. Both kids and adults were in awe.
The crafty session by Paperazzi Design Studio had the little ones transforming paper into Alice in Wonderland art. It was fantastic to see their creativity shine!
Circus Nexus brought fun circus skills to the children, boosting their confidence and trust. The little performers had a blast!
Families took a lunch break at Mr Tulk and explored the Library, checking out Ned Kelly’s armour and the beautiful artwork in the Cowen Gallery.
This event was perfect for kids aged 5–12, but younger ones also enjoyed the activities with their families.
Capturing the smiles and joy at the Kids' Takeover was wonderful. I’m thrilled to have been part of such a magical day.
